Where Can I Stay with My Dog in Ventura?
Who said that every time you pull out your suitcase your furry friend will give you those sad puppy dog eyes? In Ventura, we know what it means to give you and your family a world-class vacation stay including the four-legged family member. Ventura is as dog friendly as it gets: beaches, parks, and restaurants galore! Better yet, when you stay in Ventura with your furry friend stop by the Ventura Visitor’s Center and pick up a free Pooch Pouch —we’ll give your dog a true Ventura welcome.
If you’re planning a beach getaway to our little corner of the world, here’s a list of hotels and motels you can stay at with your dog during your trip to Ventura.
Downtown Ventura
Stay in the heart of the city in Downtown Ventura. Grab lunch with your collared friend at Barrelhouse 101 and walk down Main Street with fido in tow. Order an Italian sandwich at Peirano’s and walk down to the beach for a picnic and frisbee day. Take a tour of our city’s murals up and down the West-side and snap photos of your furry friend in front of them (you’ll get tons of likes, no doubt about it).
Stay at the Crowne Plaza, Vagabond Inn, Motel 6 Ventura Downtown, and Waypoint Ventura.
Pierpont & South Seaward
Take fido out for a sunset beach walk (leashed dogs please!) at Marina Park. In the afternoon, cool down with some fro-yo at Seaward’s iconic Surf ‘n’ Yogurt location. Get lost in the seaside views and enjoy your stay at these hotels:
The Pierpont Inn, Ventura Beach Marriott, Motel 6 Ventura Beach, and Shores Inn,

Ventura Harbor Village
The first thing on your list to do: get your furry friend a Pup Cone at Coastal Cone. Will he want to share it with you? Probably not. The Ventura Harbor Village is a popular spot for a harborside stroll in the morning, afternoon and evening. On the Alley or Andria’s Seafood Restaurant & Market are great options for a casual bite to eat. After a long day full of fun relax in one of these hotels:
Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor Resort and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ventura Harbor.
Midtown & East-End Ventura
Midtown and East-End Ventura are a mix of residential and unique businesses with some of the more underground places to eat. These parts of town are also home to some of the best parks and hiking locations: check out Camino Real Park (home to a fenced dog park), Arroyo Verde Park (great hiking trails), and Harmon Canyon (2,100 acres of breathtaking nature views & amazing trails). You can stay at these hotels in the area:
Viking Motel, La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Ventura, and Motel 6 Ventura South.
