How to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Ventura, CA
It’s time to grab your four-leaf clovers and green shirts. There’s so much to do and see in Ventura during the holiday weekend that you have to make it a weekend beach getaway!
From special treats to celebrate the day to festivities across town, here’s what to do in Ventura for St. Patrick’s Day.
Celebrate at Dargan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant

We have to kick off the celebration of St Patrick’s Day at Dargan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant. Established in Ventura in 2004, Dargan’s has been a local hangout spot ever since. The best place to get a classic pint of Guinness and a comforting plate of corned beef & cabbage, you have to head to Dargan’s during the St Patrick’s Day weekend.
This year, bring your family and friends to enjoy bagpipe and Irish dancing performances throughout the weekend at various times. Get ready for green beer, swag drink specials, and a limited menu with all of your Irish faves.
Ventura County St Patrick’s Day Parade

Join in on all the fun at the annual Ventura County St Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Ventura.
Every year, Ventura comes out for this beloved community parade that stretches from Lincoln Drive to Fir Street. Get there early to line up along the street to see all the floats and festivities during the parade, and make sure to head down Main Street where the party continues after the parade with dozens of restaurants and other attractions open to everyone.
Explore Green Spaces in Ventura: Hiking and Walking Trails in Ventura
While celebrating over a pint and good food is always a great way to get into the St Paddy’s Day spirit, consider heading out into the great outdoors for a change of scenery.
There are plenty of ways you can enjoy Ventura’s green spaces, hiking trails, and parks. On the top of your list should be visiting the Ventura Botanical Gardens and Harmon Canyon. Both are dog-friendly (make sure to check their websites for the specific dog-friendly days and/or trails first!) and are wonderful places to get outside and catch a glimpse of Ventura’s rolling green hills and the blue Pacific Ocean.
We can’t talk about green spaces without mentioning the Channel Islands National Park & Marine Sanctuary just off the coast of Ventura. Just a 90-minute ferry ride from the Ventura Harbor, enjoy raw and untouched nature on Santa Cruz Island (the largest of the five islands). Green hills and blooming wildflowers make their appearance in the spring.
Arroyo Verde Park is another outdoor space for outdoor enthusiasts but make sure to bring your hiking boots and plenty of water as this trail is known to be a bit more challenging. There are plenty of other ways to enjoy all of our green spaces and ways to stay active in Ventura.
St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawls

Grab your crew and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at some of Ventura’s best spots. Check out the St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawls happening in town where you’ll be able to enjoy beverages and vibes at hot spots. With no coverage charge, plenty of beverage specials at different locations, and a fun time with your friends, join in on the fun. Remember to have fun responsibly!
And don’t forget to check out the Rotary Club’s St. Patrick’s Day Party on March 16 at Topa Topa Brewery on Colt Street.
