Ventura’s Feeling Lucky

Step aside, Ireland!

Our rains have bestowed stunning, and strangely soothing, greenscape. Take a moment to breathe deep, and enjoy. Take more than a moment. There’s art in stillness.

And don’t forget to slip on your favorite green and come to the St. Patrick’s Day parade, Saturday, March 16. It starts at 10 am at the San Buenaventura Mission on Main Street, and makes its fun-loving way up Main Street, complete with bands, floats, dancers, and, yes, the Biggest Green Pig in the World. Plan out your St. Patrick’s day weekend!

Arroyo Verde Park

A favorite spot for local hikers and dogs (on leash please), the rains have turned Arroyo Verde into something even locals don’t recognize. But from on high, the sweeping seascapes remain unchanged.

Ventura Botanical Gardens

New green (and yellow) life returns to this collection of Nature’s beauty, lovingly culled by human hands.

Plaza Park

No, this photo is not enhanced. Directly in front of the post office (mail post cards home!), leprechaun green has come to Plaza Park.

Channel Islands National Park

Ahhhhhhhhh. North America’s Galapagos doesn’t look like the Galapagos anymore. You’ll need sunglasses to face the Coreopsis.
