Kiteboarding at Surfer’s Point
by Josiah Roe Images by Josiah Roe
When conditions are right, Surfer’s Point offers some of the best kiteboarding and surfing in California, with lots of peaks, friendly locals, easy access and parking, and fantastic views of the California Coast. Surfer’s Point, also known as C Street (for nearly California Street), offers great wave quality and favorable kiteboarding wind directions (sideshore with the occasional side-off). Conditions are often best in the late afternoon, when the wind really starts to howl, sending kiteboarders where they want to go — soaring. To get there, take Figueroa to Shoreline to the parking lot along the beach. For more information be sure to visit the Ventura Kiteboarding Association .
