Day Two – Ventura Pier and Promenade

Take a day to relax and play at Surfer’s Point Beach, just short walk from Downtown. Our uncrowded beaches are some of the best for enjoying oceanside activities all day long: surf, kite surf, boogie board, and comb the beach for stones and shells. More often than not, there are balanced stone sculptures to admire, and you may be inspired to make one yourself. For the uninitiated, surf lessons are available at local pro-surfer Mary Osborne’s Surf Camp, mentioned in Sunset Magazine as one of the 10 best surf camps in the west.

Bikes are available to rent at The Bike Depot for a leisurely ride along the Omer Rains Bike Trail and Promenade–and be sure to take a walk along the wooden pier, where you can fish with no license required, or kids can play all day in the playground located beside the pier, right on the sand. For lunch, pick up fish tacos at Beach House Tacos, or the equally delicious Spencer Mackenzie’s. At the end of the day, you can enjoy a sunset over the ocean, the likes of which California is famous for.
