Old Creek Ranch & Winery has been in Ventura County’s winery scene for over 30 years but the ranch itself is generations old — the ranch was first granted to Don Fernando Tico in 1898 by the Mexican government. With a rich history spanning over a hundred years, it leads us to today: the Old Creek Ranch & Winery is now owned by the Holguin Family who have brought the ranch and winery to life while honoring the look and feel that long-time customers have come to know and love.

Today, visitors from all across the country come to the Old Creek Ranch to experience a rural winery just 10 minutes away from Downtown Ventura by car. Vines grow on the property and you can sample their tasting flight along with a ton of tasty treats that make great pairings.

A great place to escape and relax from the hustle and bustle, lounge out on the couches or get up and play corn hole! Often hosting large private groups, make sure to book a reservation in advance for this true ranch & wine tasting experience at Old Creek Ranch & Winery.

What’s Nearby: Head back to Ventura to have some of the best tacos you’ve had in your life (we’re not exaggerating). Just down the freeway and on the Ventura Avenue —or as locals call it, the Avenue— is Ventura’s Westside Taco District, home to a dozen or so family-owned and operated taquerías. Each with its own twist and specialties, take your own personal tour around the taco district and try two (or four) different tacos from these local spots. You won’t be sorry!

Lucky for you, you get two wineries in one! Located in the same building, you can visit TWO separate wineries in the SAME location. Both wines from Lester Family Cellars & Trois le Fou Winery will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle — and you’ll want to try both!

Let’s start with Lester Family Cellars — a true family affair for winemaking. Dedicated to producing small lote, handcrafted varietal wines, their grapes are hand harvested, hand sorted, and loved.

Trois le Fou Winery (which is loosely translated to the three lunatics or fools) is a local Ventura winery known for their specialty Rhone style wine but they also sample their Bordeaux styles as well. Book a tasting for an hour or two and hang out with your crew.

You can often stumble upon live music and entertainment at Lester Family Cellars and Trois le Fou Winery — check their socials for schedules!

What’s Nearby: A trip to Ventura without going to the beach is not a complete Ventura vacation. The ocean is calling your name, why not oblige? Head over to the Ventura Harbor where you’ll find soft sandy beaches perfect for a day lazing on the sand, body surfing in the water, or throwing a frisbee around. Mother’s Beach is known for its particularly soft and gentle waves and Surfers Knoll is a popular spot to spread out for the day.
