  So. We reached out to you — and you responded in a way even we couldn’t have imagined. We asked you what will be the very first thing you’ll do when we can all return to Ventura, and Ventura returns to us. A fun way to look to a future that will come. The answers poured in in droves. Below, you’ll find some of your answers (and some great inside tips). We simply couldn’t include them all. Making this as good a time as any to thank you — or kind followers — for being you. We are grateful for you, and grateful to you. We create these blogs — and all our other content — to inform, to uplift and inspire, to entertain, to make life just a little bit better. We’re not going to change the world, but for a moment we would like to make your world better. A small gift between friends. Here’s what we wrote in our first “First Thing You’ll Do” blog. “What’s the very first Ventura thing you’ll do? Dreaming is good, because some dreams come true. Returning to a wide open Ventura, for one. We’re not there yet, but the day will come, and, when it does, just for fun we’d love to hear what’s the very first thing you’ll do. After spreading your arms to the sky…” You make us spread our arms to the sky. Thank you, from the entire Visit Ventura team. Hit up all our favorite restaurants. Victoria Pub, Cronies, Spencer Makenzies, J Wolf, Caribbean Haven, Cask, Grapes & Hops, Tavern, Cask, Winchester’s, 805, Margaritaville, Rincon, and some places in Oxnard. (Just to name a few). Oh forgot to mention Taco District and some of our favorite happy hour places – Aloha, Lure, Cafe Fiore, Brophys… Also Sushi! ILove, Sushi Fresh, Sumo… Ventura has some of THE BEST restaurants. Such a variety! Tami Emmerson

   

Thrift shopping! VTA Flea Market! Local Punk Rock bands at The Garage and Ventura Theater! Marie Shannon Bakery! Machii Michelle Lapointe Oxnard

             

Breakfast burritos at Corrales, pack up the truck with corn hole boards, coolers, umbrellas chairs and head down the rincon to our favorite beach spot and post up for the day! Then pack it all up after an amazing beach day with friends and family and head to Cronies for iced cold schooners and food. Amanda Peterson Ventura

Go to Tony’s Pizzeria best pizza anywhere, been going there since I was in High School and I’m 71 now. Betty LaRocco
