For the first time, GFNY is bringing its world-class cycling experience to California, and Ventura is kicking things off. On April 11, 2027, cyclists from all over the world will take to the road during Michelob ULTRA GFNY Ventura-California, with two routes winding through some of Ventura’s most scenic landscapes.

Whether you’re chasing a podium, taking on a new distance, or coming along to cheer on your favorite cyclist, here’s everything you need to know about GFNY Ventura 2027.

Choose Your Challenge: 87 Miles or 47 Miles

If you want the full experience, the competitive long route covers 87 miles and approximately 6,500 feet of climbing, traveling through Ventura, Santa Paula, Ojai, Carpinteria, and the surrounding Ventura County countryside.

It’s a serious day on the bike — and a pretty spectacular way to see this slice of the California coastline.

But if you’re looking for something a little shorter, the 47-mile recreational route offers cyclists the GFNY experience at a more approachable distance while still delivering plenty of scenery and challenge.

Both routes are timed, so no matter which distance you choose, you’ll have an official result waiting for you at the end. And don’t forget, you don’t need to be a pro to tackle either of these routes.

Make GFNY Ventura a Weekend

Our advice? Make it a beach getaway while you’re here. Don’t just come for the cycling event, come for everything Ventura has to offer!

Come in early and scratch a national park off your bucket list: the Channel Islands National Park is just a boat ride away, where you can hike scenic trails, see the cute island fox, and watch dozens of dolphins (and maybe even a whale) swim alongside the boat on your way there. 

Ventura has a lively live music scene, too. Check out the historic Majestic Ventura Theater, the Ventura Music Hall, the Rubicon, and the dozens of bars & restaurants that host talented live musical acts all week long. 

If you’re hungry, cruise to the Ventura Avenue for authentic and locally owned and operated taquerías. The Ventura Harbor is home to fresh seafood options with a view, and Downtown has a variety of options for all of your taste buds. 

Coming Along to Cheer?

You don’t need a bike to be part of GFNY weekend.

With race festivities based at Mission Park, friends and family can enjoy Downtown Ventura while their rider is out on the course. Grab breakfast or coffee, browse local shops, walk to the beach, and make your way back for the post-race celebration.

Translation: cheering is required. Exploring around Ventura and letting spontaneous adventures find you is an absolute must. 

How Do You Get to GFNY Ventura?

Downtown Ventura is accessible by car or train, and the Ventura train station puts visitors within walking distance of Downtown and Mission Park. Riders traveling with bicycles should check bike-reservation requirements and availability before booking their train trip.

Flying in? Los Angeles International Airport, Hollywood Burbank Airport, and Santa Barbara Airport are all options for reaching Ventura.
