Ventura on a high school budget

By Bennett Cvijanovich

As a 15 year-old high school student in Ventura, I know what it’s like to be rolling on a budget. Here are my ideas to make the most of your money and your day.

San Buenaventura Mission

Come visit the mission and learn some interesting history of Ventura and the Mission itself!!

Ventura Beach Promenade

Come explore Ventura’s awesome coast on the beach promenade, and if you are feeling up to it, you can rent a bike at Wheel Fun Rentals and take a nice ride along the 5 mile trail.

Surfing

Check out Rip Curl’s surf shop, rent a wetsuit and a surfboard and head down to Surfers’ Point to go surf! And don’t worry if you’re new to surfing because Surfers’ Point is a great place to learn!

Downtown Movie

Come Downtown to the Century 10 Theater and see a movie! If you happen to come on a Tuesday, you will receive a $4.50 discount which is awesome!!

Botanical Garden Hike

Take an awesome hike above Ventura and see the beauty that it has to offer!! All you need is running shoes and some water to see Ventura from above.

Ventura Harbor Village

Come down to the harbor and grab some lunch at Brophy Brothers or Andria’s Seafood, voted the Best Fish and Chips in America. After you can rent a kayak or a stand-up paddle board and if you have your own, just drop em in the water and enjoy Ventura Keys. Have other ideas you want to share?
