Your Perfect Spring Itinerary in Ventura
Spring in Ventura is when everything just clicks—longer days, ocean breezes, hillsides in bloom, and a calendar full of reasons to stay a little longer. If you’re looking for the kind of trip that feels equal parts relaxed and full, this is it. Read on for your perfect Ventura spring itinerary.
Start by celebrating the season
Lean into the season and enjoy the open outdoor spaces Ventura has in no shortage of.
- Wander the Downtown Farmers Market for peak-season strawberries, citrus, and fresh flowers. It’s every Saturday, rain or shine. Tip: get there early so you can get the best picks.
- Visit the Ventura Botanical Gardens, where colorful blooms meet sweeping ocean views. Free on Fridays and special holidays (admission is $7), you can bring your leashed pup on dog-friendly days as well.
- Go wildflower spotting at Harmon Canyon, Arroyo Verde Park, or Ventura Hills Nature Preserve and get a good workout in. Each of these trails has incredible views of the Ventura hillsides or the gorgeous ocean.
- Take a day trip to Channel Islands National Park for lush green landscapes and the iconic giant coreopsis in bloom. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for those cute island foxes that trot along the trail.

- Frontside Café (perfect before a beach walk or island adventure)
- Art’s Corner Café (laid-back, local charm, and mouthwatering cinnamon rolls)

Whichever spot you head to, get there early, especially on the weekends. We weren’t lying when we said Ventura takes its breakfast very seriously!
