by Sing Weist

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” – The Bhagavad Gita. When searching for the perfect studio to practice yoga, you have to research what type of class you would like to take: Acroyoga, Vinyasa, Flow, Meditative, Bikram, etc. There is quite an array of yoga classes that are offered, and to get the most out of your practice, you want to choose the one that suits your current needs.

There are multiple yoga studios in Ventura that offer all the options listed above and more. If you’re looking for Bikram Yoga, head over to Hot Yoga Ventura. With a heated hatha yoga sequence, 26 postures, and two breathing exercises get ready for a sweaty 90 minutes that will leave you feeling invigorated and drenched from head to toe.

If you prefer the outdoor sunshine as your main heat source, then Ventura Pop Up Yoga is a great option. The classes are donation based; therefore, you do not have to feel pressured to purchase a yoga class at a certain amount. They encourage yoga for individuals of all experiences, so whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, you can enjoy yoga outdoors in the park at Marina, Arroyo Verde, or Barranca Vista. On a breezy Saturday or Sunday morning, yoga in the park is a great way to start off your day!

Jai Rhythm Yoga offers multiple classes for every yoga level. Additionally, if you are looking to become yogi certified, they offer 200-hour teacher training.
