X Games Ventura Local Special Beer Release: Cheers to the X Games

Eight Ventura breweries are celebrating X Games Ventura 2024 with fun, unique, and creative beer, making each and every one of them a perfect pairing with the thrills of the X Games.

This is the second annual Ventura local special beer release to celebrate the X Games — this year’s lineup is better than ever. Featuring both new and creative brews from local breweries alongside some of last year’s returning favorites, you can cheers to X Games Ventura with this awesome lineup. From delicious IPAs to refreshing pale ales, you have to take a sip of each one.

And don’t miss the Local XG Beer Series Kickoff at Barrelhouse 101 on Sunday, June 23 at 11:30 AM to start off the X Games Ventura week right. You can try each of the 8 special releases at the kickoff event. Check in with each of the breweries for availability at the taproom.

Nac Nac

BellRinger Brewing Company

Named after the iconic BMX and Moto X trick, BellRinger’s special release X Games beer is a West Coast IPA perfect to cheers to the games. A subtle piney bitterness rounds out this refreshing brew.

BellRinger is located on Main Street, just a few minutes from X Games. A chill brewpub space, you can order an epic burger like their Double Smash Burger or a plate of chicken tacos as you sip on your pint of Nac Nac.

Space Walk

Bright Spark Brewing

This Mango Hazy Pale Ale, Space Walk, has a big mango aroma, and a classic hazy finish. Named after a skate trick in honor of the X Games, Space Walk is brewed with Comet Hops, and is infused with mango.

Also hosting weekly trivia nights and boasting a full kitchen, make sure you bring the entire crew to hang out at Bright Spark in between competitions. PS. don’t miss out on their hot honey pepperoni pizzas or burgers!

Nelson Grind

Leashless Brewing

Nelson Grind is an Xtra Pale Ale clocking in at 5.5% ABV that focuses on Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic organic hops lending a refreshing taste to the special brew. It’s double dry-hopped to bring those wonderful tropical and citrus notes to the forefront to better enjoy those summer days outside!

Paying homage to skateboarding, you can grab a can of Nelson Grind at Leashless Brewing located right in Downtown Ventura.

Tail Whip

Poseidon Brewing Co.

Whip into X Games Ventura with Tail Whip Pale Ale. Back again this year, this pale ale is inspired by California sunshine and made with lotus hops from Hop Steiner for a delicious taste perfect for summer dazing. Waves of orange and vanilla followed by notes of candied grape and tropic fruit aromas, Tail Whip goes in for the gold.

The label art by Blind Tiger Design combines Poseidon’s nautical influence and an ode to extreme sports by showcasing a deep sea diver doing a tailwhip on a dirt bike. You can purchase a limited edition Tail Whip t-shirt to celebrate this special beer.

Seaward Brewing

Raise a glass to X Games Ventura with Seaward’s White Knuckle Pilsner. New to the X Games local beer lineup, Seaward’s special brew brings the adrenaline with citrus and herbal notes. Crisp and refreshing, it’s the perfect brew for these June days.

When you stop by to pick up a can, hang out for a while. Inside, you’ll find vintage 80s video games lining the walls. From live music, trivia nights, and other fun local events, you’ll be sure to find some fun while you’re in town for X Games Ventura at Seaward!

Beer Can Can

Transmission Brewing

The first thing you might notice when you step inside Transmission is the huge dirt bike suspended over the bar. Paying homage to the building’s roots (it was formerly a mechanic shop), Beer Can-Can is a nod to the brewery’s history and X Games. Owner Casey Jonker is a rider himself so making Beer Can-Can was a no brainer. The beer is a crisp pale ale with flavors of peach, papaya and pine — it pairs perfectly with the excitement of the X Games.

Switch Flip Strawberry Blonde

Rincon Brewery

Rincon’s at it again this year with another amazing special brew for this year’s lineup — Switch Flip Strawberry Blond is a lightly fruit-forward, medium-bodied crisp, and dry beer with a pleasant pink tint. Its refreshing flavor encapsulates the best of coastal growing conditions and classic brewing traditions in one glass. Rincon joined forces with local growers at McGrath Family Farms and picked ripe, organic, local strawberries to produce this ABV 5.1% beer. Cheers!
