Miss the wild joy of live music? Sweeping lights, thundering drums, strutting singers, screaming guitars? Well you don’t have to — and it doesn’t get more innovative, or fun, than this. Courtesy of CBF Productions — one of California’s largest traveling boutique festival production companies — Super Duper Kyle, Randy Houser, the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band, and Fishbone, Ozomatli and Rey Fresco have already played live beside the sea at the Ventura County Fairgrounds; with hundreds of fans enjoying the thrill from their cars.
Yep, you read that right. Drive-In morphs with live concert; the experience enhanced by huge screens, booming sound systems, live aerial drone footage, and a sense of, well, wholly unconventional fun.
Can’t imagine how much fun that would be? Well, why don’t you win yourself some free tickets and find out?
CBF Productions is giving away tickets to these upcoming shows — DSB (Journey tribute band; Thursday, July 23), Yachtley Crew (danceable hits of the 70s and 80s; Friday, July 24; don’t bang your head on the roof of the car), and Noise Pollution (AC/DC tribute band; Thursday, July 30; you should bang your head). All you have to do is enter once for all the shows. And — when you win (why not optimism?) — let the music sweep you away.
Even in these challenging times, the summer fun we all remember.
In a very real sense, the band plays on…
