Ventura, California Becomes Finalist For Best Beach Town
Ventura Visitors & Convention Bureau (VVCB) is excited to announce that Ventura has been named a finalist for the ‘Best Beach Town’ award in Sunset Magazine’s 2nd Annual Travel Awards. The Sunset Travel Awards spotlight the very best travel experiences on the West Coast. They were introduced to honor excellence and innovation in the tourism industry across the 13 Western states, British Columbia, and Alberta. The awards recognize achievement in lodging, dining, cultural tourism, outdoor adventure, and other categories. Finalists in the Best Beach Town category were chosen because they capture the spirit of the West in an outstanding way. This category celebrates coastal communities that offer beach lovers an unforgettable combination of sand, water, and beach-town charm and amenities. Ventura is honored to be nominated among three other worthy finalists: Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and Tofino. Winners will be selected by Sunset Magazine’s travel editors along with a travel advisory board who will judge and choose winners for categories ranging from Best Adventure Town to Best Food Town to Best Shopping Street. Winners will then be featured in Sunset Magazine’s August 2016 issue and will appear on Sunset.com. They will also be invited to celebrate at Sunset Magazine’s headquarters in San Francisco. VVCB is thrilled that Ventura is being recognized by Sunset Magazine and will be waiting in anticipation for June when winners are revealed. “Our team is elated to be Sunset Travel Awards finalists for the second year in a row; last year for the Municipal Makeover Award and this year for the Best Beach Town Award. It’s something we hope all Venturans will be proud of and hold dear to their hearts,” added VVCB President/CEO Marlyss Auster.
