Just a block down the street from Lure, their carrot ginger soup — spiced with fresh ginger, curry powder, and lemon juice — adds zest to any kind of day.

Brophy Brothers

Brophy Brothers are across the parking lot from Andria’s (in Ventura Harbor), offering a culinary win-win. Ladle up their fish stew cioppino, as rain turns the boats to ghost ships.

Paradise Pantry

Their fish stew — fresh fish in a white wine, saffron and tomato broth with roasted peppers, garlic, and herbs — cries cozy (they also do a soup of the day). Across the street, the San Buenaventura Mission absorbs the rain has it has for 230-plus years.

Lure Fish House

Torn between the New England clam chowder and the Veracruz red clam chowder? Fine. Ask them to mix them, half and a half. If you feel like treating yourself, try their Cioppino with Lobster Tail.
