In Ventura, there’s always something new to explore. From aesthetic restaurants and coffee shops to artistic boutiques, this beach town keeps the good vibes rolling. We’re here to keep you updated on what’s new around town. As 2025 comes to an end, we’re highlighting the newest businesses bringing fresh energy to Ventura. If you haven’t checked these spots out yet, make it your remaining 2025 bucket list.

La Duquesa

La Duquesa is the newest addition to midtown Ventura, bringing a combination of brunch, steakhouse, and bar (there’s no better combo than that!). With amazing cocktails, fluffy waffles, and perfectly cooked steaks to serve, this new spot has become a hit.

The space blends elegance with a relaxed vibe every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. – whether you’re stopping in for mimosas or ending the day with a cocktail, La Duquesa is the place to be.

“La Duquesa was created to bring people together over great food, good drinks, and genuine moments. We opened in the heart of Midtown Ventura because this community truly opened its heart to us. Ventura is full of warmth, creativity, and good people and we’re so grateful to be part of it,” said owner Mariana Soto.

Corazon Cocina

Downtown Ventura welcomes a new flavorful spot, bringing bold, modern Mexican foods. Known for their delicious street-styled tacos, tasty ceviche, sweet hibiscus aguas frescas, and traditional margaritas. Corazon Cocina delivers fresh foods, using local ingredients to make each bite memorable.

This spot is the perfect place to gather with friends and family and experience the savory flavors of Mexico that Corazon Cocina perfectly provides- get a taste of their Ensenada tacos with a tasty horchata!

Mothers

A new local favorite restaurant brings Mexico City-style tacos, churros, and drinks to downtown Ventura. Mothers keeps it authentic and full of flavor- from al pastor tacos, creamy and cheesy corn on the cob to crispy chicken skins, and refreshing margaritas- don’t miss out on their frozen strawberry daiquiri! The great vibes make it easy to enjoy the feast. Enjoy a flavourful drink during their happy hour- 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Mothers has rolled out a brand-new brunch menu inspired by nostalgic mornings in Mexico- available Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m making it the perfect weekend stop. This new local favorite keeps the weekday vibes strong with local vendor nights every Thursday, featuring pop-ups and an overall fun community.

Freedom Coffee

Now located inside the Island Packers building at the Ventura Harbor Village, Freedom Coffee brings easygoing vibes with local organic coffee. It’s the perfect stop before a trip to the Channel Islands, a harbor walk, or an easy morning by the ocean. Order their signature drinks- the hawaiian latte or California latte, or if you need a little extra boost before your adventure, try their oat-milk cold brew- it does the job.

Open every day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Freedom Coffee serves simple, smooth, delicious drinks that has you ready for a day of hiking, kayaking, and dolphin watching at the islands. Start your day trip right by having a coffee right at the entrance of your boat ride.

Room Service Coffee

Just a walk from Mothers, Room Service Coffee has become the perfect go-to spot for easy mornings. This new coffee spot keeps things simple and cozy with smooth lattes and warm pastries- the sage, maple and black sesame latte and yuzu pear harvest matcha are a must try! Room Service Coffee is the place that makes your morning feel a little better, with coffee that never misses.

This coffee shop sits inside the GasWorks building and gives an easy quiet vibe that makes you want to sit and relax with a soothing latte or tea in hand. Room Service Coffee is a nice spot to catch up with a friend or just chill before starting the rest of your day.

Blog

SIPS Coffee. Wine. Beer.

A new addition to the east end of Ventura, SIPS is the spot for coffee in the morning and wine or beer at night. They’ve got pastries and local drinks that always hit- perfect for a slow morning or a casual night out. Enjoy trivia night every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with good drinks, good laughs, and good energy all around! Whether you’re catching up with friends or looking for a spot to unwind, SIPS is the spot.

SIPS keeps things fun with live music nights and their stock-up wine events-plus you can always taste-test different wines to figure out your favorites! It’s an easy place where you can swing by for a quick drink and hangout.

Boba

Boba by the Sea

Located right at the Ventura Harbor, Boba by the Sea keeps it fun with tasty drinks that hit just right when walking by the water. Try their coconut boba slushie or tropical kumquat fruit tea- and don’t forget to add a Labubu jelly! (fun fact Boba by the Sea is the only boba shop in the region that serves Labubu gelatin toppings). The calm harbor views make it the perfect stop for something sweet.

Boba by the sea switches things up every month with new drink series- from their cloud series serving drinks with whipped cream topping to fun matcha flavor series like dragon fruit matcha and strawberry matcha. And if you’re up for it, try their fun challenge of eating 50 labubu jellys!

Golden Hour Goods

Right by the water at Ventura Harbor sits the real-life Etsy shop, Golden Hour Goods, a bright place filled with unique handmade crafts (jewelry, art prints, gifts and crochet clothing) made by over 25 local artists. Open everyday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.- stop by for good vibes, ocean views, and one of a kind treasures you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Being right at the Ventura Harbor, it’s an easy stop before exploring the rest of the area- grab a couple treasures, then swing by other shops or grab a bite to eat- try Boatyard Pub! And if you’re in for a fun adventure head out for paddle boarding or a boat ride- it’s the perfect way to have a full experience at the Ventura Harbor Village.
