What to Expect at Bike the Coast Ventura

What is a Rules-of-the-Road Bike Ride?
One of the best things about Bike The Coast is that the event is a bike ride, not a race. It’s not about the speed you’re riding, it’s about the experience and the memories you’re making with each pedal. The courses are on open roads, and follow a “rules of the road” guideline, meaning all riders must follow the traffic laws, as defined in the California Vehicle Code. You’ll be expected to stop at all stop signs and lights, and ride within the bike lanes unless passing. All riders must ride on the right-hand side of the road, not ride across the centerline, and should ride single file.
Course Information

The event offers three course options: the Metric Century 65-mile ride, a 35-mile ride, and the rider’s favorite 17-mile family ride. Participants of the Metric Century 65-Mile ride will enjoy a tour of the scenic Central California coastline with some hills in neighboring cities. The 35-mile and 17-mile ride will also highlight constant ocean views along their rules-of-the-road routes. All courses are stocked with support and gear locations to ensure riders are provided opportunities to rest and nourish.
Welcoming All Ages and Experience Levels
Whatever your background, age, or experience, Bike to Coast is for everyone. Because Bike the Coast is not a race, you can take it at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. The ride is meant to showcase Ventura’s natural beauty, the vibrant community, and provide locals and visitors the opportunity to ‘Come for the Ride, Stay for the Party’. With varying distances, the event welcomes riders of all levels!
Why You’ll Want To Stay for the Party

Once you wrap up your ride, you’ll get to celebrate your hard earned accomplishment at the free and open-to-the-public Finish Festival, featuring a lively atmosphere with an emphasis on community vendors. This year’s Finish Festival features local food and drinks, live music, local restaurants providing post ride meals, and a beer garden hosted by Ventura Coast Brewing Company with proceeds benefiting Bike MS and local non-profits.
Benefitting a Great Cause
With Bike The Coast’s expansion into Ventura, they are continuing their partnership with the National MS Society and Bike MS, organizations dedicated to supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis through research, advocacy and community programs. Founded in 1946, the National MS Society has been a global leader in the movement to create a world free of MS. Proceeds from the post-ride beer garden, along with rider donations, will contribute to the cause, helping advance research and connect participants with the MS community.
