Great photo ops in Ventura

Botanical Garden

This beautiful hike above Ventura is a wonderful spot to take your photos of Ventura. Once you reach the top of the trail you will get an amazing view of Ventura Avenue, downtown, and you can see the harbor in the distance!!

The Cross

Located near the Botanical Garden, The Cross is a quick stroll to an awesome view of downtown and the pier. The Cross was originally set up sometime in 1782 as a guidepost after Father Serra founded the San Buenaventura Mission.

Channel Islands National Park

If you love taking pictures of wildlife, then you must visit the Channel Islands. Take a boat ride over to one of the 5 islands and enjoy the beauty there. Rent a kayak and explore the sea caves and kelp beds or take a hike around the island.

Ventura Pier

The pier is a great place to take your family photos and a perfect place to watch the sun go down. The pier was recently closed due to high surf and was damaged, but has been fixed and is open. On a clear day you may be able to see the Channel Islands which is truly a beautiful sight.
