Visit Ventura Reveals New 2025 Inspiration Guide

The new Visit Ventura 2025 Inspiration Guide once again inspires visitors to experience their own Ventura adventure while remaining rooted in the local community that makes Ventura shine.

For Immediate Release:

Ventura, Calif. (January 30, 2025) – Visit Ventura is proud to announce the release of the new 2025 Ventura Inspiration Guide. Every year, the Inspiration Guide brings together the heart, soul, and spirit of Ventura and its community to inspire visitors to explore our beach town for themselves.

“We need to talk about people, our soul, and our spirit. That’s what is portrayed in our guide,” said Visit Ventura President & CEO Marlyss Auster at the Inspiration Guide Reveal Party hosted by Mothers Tacos on Tuesday.

This year’s cover art was designed and illustrated by Ventura County local Dom McLeod. Inspired by Ventura’s agricultural roots and the skate and surf scene McLeod found a community in, the art perfectly captures the essence of the community.

Featuring everything from California poppies and the historical Morten Bay Fig Tree to the Ventura Pier and iconic Anacapa Island arch, the cover art captures uniquely Ventura places and landmarks. In a whimsical “Where’s Waldo-esqe” style, the more you stare at the art, the more you see.

“I’ve been drawing all my life and representing the community means a lot to me,” said McLeod at the guide reveal party. “A lot of my work is inspired by my relationship between the community and the natural world. Ventura is a special place. We have the islands, the hills, the Sespe wilderness, and an amazing surf scene… [I] was happy to include elements of that on the cover.”

Visit Ventura once again partnered with publisher Wanderlust Content Studio to create the 2025 Inspiration Guide, which includes helpful tips and tricks about where to visit, must-see landmarks, and outdoor activities in Ventura.

Featuring local stories like the Ventura Surfrider Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving our beaches, and local Birkenstocks Footprints of Ventura owner JoAnne Hadley showcases the real people and groups that make Ventura special. Remaining rooted in the local community is key to the success of the Inspiration Guide — whether it is through local photography, local community members as models, or local writers helping share the Ventura story, the guide helps give visitors a snapshot of what it means to experience our slice of the California coast.

“The Visit Ventura Inspiration Guide is a go-to resource for visitors and locals alike,” said Brian Pendleton, Visit Ventura Board Chair and General Manager of the Ventura Port District. “It beautifully captures the heart of our community—our neighborhoods, local businesses, and the countless ways to experience Ventura’s coastal charm.”

Local business owners and partners continue to support the Inspiration Guide through native advertising, bringing storytelling to the next level with each advertisement inside. Advertisements directly support the 85,000 copies in distribution across not only the country, but the world.
