I was charmed by the eclectic combination of thrift stores, gourmet eateries and higher-end-hipster boutiques in Downtown Ventura on a recent trip. My favorite was The Refill Shoppe.
Downtown Ventura has come a long way in the gentrification process since my last visit a few years ago. There’s still a ton of thrift and resale shops but the streets are also full of the kinds of stores that make me happy to my core: bookstores, mom & pop type antique shops, and local small business storefronts. It’s so hard to find that in a downtown these days.
