Caves and Coves Classic Kayaking Adventure
Now through October is the best season for exploring the sea caves that surround Santa Cruz Island, the largest of the eight Channel Islands. Channel Islands Outfitters runs guided kayaking tours from the island for $144, which includes wetsuit, helmet and booties. Lunch is available once the kayaking tour ends with time to spare. Grab snorkel gear for a swim through the kelp forests or go for a hike. Round-trip ferry tickets must be purchased separately from Island Packers Cruises, departing from Ventura Harbor.
