THANK YOU, TOM LEHRER | Ventura live! ’25 at rubicon
Just after his recent passing at the age of 97, we celebrate the sharp wit, wild brilliance, and the extraordinary legacy of musical satirist Tom Lehrer — the Harvard mathematician-turned-songwriter whose clever, subversive songs shaped a generation of comedy and political commentary.
Bobby Underwood, known for his engaging stage presence, brings Lehrer’s sharp, clever lyrics to life, while Zalmen Mlotek, a renowned conductor and pianist, provides expert musical accompaniment. This evening revisits Lehrer’s iconic songs including “The Elements”, “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park,” and more, for an experience equal parts clever, joyful, and smart. Join us for an evening that honors a one-of-a-kind voice in American satire.
