Namba Performing Arts Space’s 4th Annual Playwrights’ SPLASH Festival Presents: “Vanlyfe”

Join us for "Vanlyfe," an extraordinary, thought-provoking, unique and humorous dramedy that challenges the criminalization of homelessness through a rag-tag story of solidarity and hope on September 1 at 6 PM. Directed by Soph Fuchs and Elliot Evans, this special performance will take place on Sunday, September 1, at 6 PM as part of our 2024 Playwrights’ Splash Festival. Performance will be held at a special location: Bell Arts Factory, 432 N Ventura Avenue, Ventura. Parking is on Prospect Street.
“Interactive and timely,” says Tamara Varney, Executive Director, Namba Performing Arts Space. “These young actors explore the value of activism and hope.”

"Vanlyfe" tells the compelling story of Sunny and Finn, a rowdy queer couple living in a broken-down van in Venice Beach. When a nearby murder triggers a 48-hour sweep of their encampment, they must rely on their community to save their home. This site-specific homeless epic, written and performed by formerly unhoused activists and actors, blends theater and activism with interactive elements and a secret mission for the audience.

“Vanlyfe” has been selected for the Namba Performing Arts Space’s Playwrights’ Splash Festival, performed in collaboration with Bell Arts Factory on Sunday September, 1 at 6 PM. Tickets are $20 online at NambaArts.com, or $25 at the door.
