Namba Performing Arts Space’s 4th Annual Playwrights’ SPLASH Festival: Three Weekends of Riveting Performances

Namba Performing Arts Space is thrilled to announce the 4th Annual Playwrights’ SPLASH Festival, a three-weekend celebration of innovative theater that will run from August 30th through October 20th with support provided by the City of Ventura Cultural Funding Grant Program. This year’s festival brings to Ventura the best of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, featuring eight carefully curated shows that highlight new voices in theater.
“Bringing new playwrights to Ventura has allowed us to expand our cultural landscape and provide a platform for emerging artists to share their stories.”” states Executive Director, Tamara Varney.
Twenty-two NAMBA Committee members served as adjudicators, reviewing over 60 original theatrical performances at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. The committee vetted each with a short answer form, resulting in the most carefully curated lineup in the history of the festival.
“This is our first time organizing a team of traveling adjudicators for selection, which has made this year’s Splash Festival the best juried shows yet!”, explains Varney. “The festival will showcase eight exceptional productions over three weekends.”
