County Ventura St. Patrick’s Day Parade

One of the area’s longest-running and most popular events, the annual County Ventura St. Patrick’s Day Parade draws thousands of visitors each year, all dressed up in green and lining main street, to watch dozens of fun entries parade by in front of them in all sorts of vehicles, entertaining in many ways, including with lots of music and dance. This year’s parade promises to be particularly whimsical, with its theme of “Shamrocks & Shenanigans.” Best entries will be rewarded at the end of the parade, which is presented by Ventura Elks Lodge No. 1430. Grand marshal this year is Elena Brokaw, a beloved civic leader and executive director of the Museum of Ventura County. After the parade, everyone’s invited to keep the party going downtown, at one of the scores of restaurants and shops celebrating the wearing of the green.
