Climate Change is Here to Stay…So What’s Next?

League of Women Voters of Ventura County is joining with Ventura College in sponsoring a free community forum on climate change including its effects in Ventura County.

Panelists include:
• David Lea: Professor of Earth Science in the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at U.C.S.B. Prof. Lea will provide a detailed overview of the nature of climate change and the dangers it poses.
• Sangwon Suh: Professor of Corporate Environmental Management and Industrial Ecology & Life Cycle Assessment in the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at U.C. S.B. Prof. Suh will address the economic problems posed by climate change and outline options for dealing with those problems including contributions from the investment community.
• Jim Hines: Chair, Los Padres Chapter of the Sierra Club. Mr. Hines will focus his remarks on three topics; What are the impacts of climate change on our natural world, including Ventura County? How will current congressional legislation impact federal lands, waters, and protected wildlife in Ventura County? What can individual citizens do to fight against legislation they view as damaging?
