Day Six – Beer, wine, and foodie heaven
A whole day can be spent exploring Ventura’s eateries, and we recommend doing just that. Located so closely to California’s grape growing region, you can bet Ventura has plenty of wineries and tasting rooms. Park the car and make it a walking tour by tasting from Downtown locales, Labyrinth, VinTura, and Grapes and Hopes, or cast your net farther and head out toward Market Street to The Cave, Plan B, Four Brix, and Panaro Brothers. We have plenty of local craft breweries, too. Stay Downtown for Topa Topa, Leashless, and Ventura Coast Brewing Company, or make it a trip around town for MadeWest, Surf Brewing Company, and Poseidon (located right next to local roasting company and coffeehouse Beacon, also a foodie must-try). Speaking of coffee, you might also want to check out local roasters Centri Coffee and Prospect Coffee while you’re at it. There’s plenty of eating to try between tastes, too. Consider booking a Ventura Food Tour, or crafting your own DIY foodie itinerary, available at VisitVenturaCA.com/blog. In the evening, book a ticket for a play at our local professional Rubicon Theatre, or catch a live concert at the Majestic Theatre. Stop in at the Ventura Visitor Center for information about local shows.
