48 Hours in Ventura – Harbor Village

Day 2: Harbor Day

9:30am – Have a casual breakfast on the waterfront at the Harbor Cove Cafe.

10:30am – Head over to the Channel Islands National Park Visitor’s Center for kid-friendly exhibits on the islands, look through a telescope, and see living tidepools. “A Treasure of the Sea” documentary film will take you on a virtual tour of the Channel Islands.

12-2pm – After drumming up some excitement about the natural world around the harbor, rent a paddleboat, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard from Ventura Boat Rentals and explore the harbor.

2pm – Have lunch at Andria’s Seafood Restaurant and Market. Their well-known Fish and Chips are great for sharing with the kids, and their clam chowder is a favorite for the whole family.

3pm – After lunch, explore the Harbor Village. Bigger kids will enjoy the challenge of the family-friendly Ultimate Escape Room, while younger kids will love the Village Carousel and Arcade. The unique stores and gift shops in the Harbor Village are fun for everyone to explore.

4pm – Grab an afternoon ice cream cone at Coastal Cone Ice Cream and head over to play in the sand at Harbor Cove Beach (“Mother’s Beach”). This is one of the safest beaches to swim at in Ventura, and the light is often beautiful for pictures in the late afternoon.
